ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Final Performance Acting Camp — Sternstunden der Menschheit

‘Millions of tedious hours must pass before a truly historic shooting star of humanity appears in the sky.’ Stefan Zweig describes 14 such ‘fateful hours’ in the collection of miniatures that make up his book Sternstunden der Menschheit, most recently translated into English as Shooting Stars. These short stories from the worlds of culture, technology, science, exploration and politics have one thing in common: they make historical events come alive with vibrant immediacy. Famous figures of world history will take to the stage and step out from behind their illustrious names in this drama camp, allowing for a deeply human understanding of the historical events they are synonymous with. The young participants will connect with Zweig’s ‘fateful hours’ through their personal experiences of the world, depicting their own characters and acting out dramatic miniatures from a contemporary perspective.
