jung & jede*r

With the new jung&jede*r section, the Salzburg Festival is setting a strong example in the children’s and youth programme.

The entire province of Salzburg will become a stage with jung&jede*r as early as April 2025. The Salzburg Festival will travel ‘from Abtenau to Zell am See’ and present two mobile productions for children and young people in cooperation with local cultural associations and event organisers.

Pupils can experience the performance either directly at their own school in Salzburg or at a cultural centre near them in the province of Salzburg. Interested school classes of all school types are also invited to develop their own projects in participatory projects thematically based on the mobile productions together with experts, artists and educators.

With 58 performances from April to August 2025 and successful formats such as the opera camps, the Salzburg Festival and Theatre Children’s Choir, youth tickets and educational offers for young audiences, as well as the Young Singers Project and the Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award for young professionals, the Salzburg Festival opens up new spaces for artistic and social interaction and encourages young people to shape the coming decades.
