A glimpse behind the scenes: Gustavo Dudamel and the Vienna Philharmonic

This is a work that demands so much from every musician on stage and each rehearsal reveals new insights into Mahler’s extraordinary vision. At the same time, we bring our own experiences into this music. With my thoughts close to the people of Venezuela following the recent earthquakes, I am reminded that works like this continue to resonate because they speak to the human experience in all of its complexity. I am grateful to be sharing this journey with the remarkable musicians and audiences in Salzburg. – Gustavo Dudamel
