Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor

The Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor plays an established role in productions of the Salzburg Festival and the Salzburg Landestheater. It has performed with soloists such as Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann and Piotr Beczala; conductors including Riccardo Muti, Christian Thielemann, Gustavo Dudamel, John Eliot Gardiner and Franz Welser-Möst; as well as many orchestras, among them the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics.
Recent productions and concerts at the Salzburg Festival in which the choir performed include Tosca, La Damnation de Faust, the War Requiem and the children’s opera Vom Stern, der nicht leuchten konnte. The choir also puts on its own productions at the Salzburg Landestheater, such as Die Kinder des Monsieur Mathieu (The Chorus) and Peter Pan. In addition, the choir has participated in guest performances at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona. The choir’s music director is Wolfgang Götz and its vocal coach is Regina Sgier.

The Children’s Choir will perform in various productions at this year’s Festival.
