Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor

The Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor plays an established role in productions of the Salzburg Festival and the Salzburg Landestheater. The children‘s choir has sung with soloists such as Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann and Piotr Beczala; conductors including Riccardo Muti, Christian Thielemann, Gustavo Dudamel, John Eliot Gardiner and Franz Welser-Möst; and the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics, among other orchestras.

In recent seasons at the Salzburg Festival, the choir has performed in Il trittico, De temporum fine comoedia, Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher, Jakob Lenz and Mefistofele.

The choir also puts on its own productions at the Salzburg Landestheater, such as Die Kinder des Monsieur Mathieu (The Chorus) and Peter Pan, and has appeared in Landestheater repertory productions including Der Rosenkavalier and the musical Hair.
In addition, the choir has participated in guest performances at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, and the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona.

The choir’s music directors are Wolfgang Götz and Regina Sgier.

The Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor will perform in Bohuslav Martinů‘s The Greek Passion in 2023.
