About the Production

Every farewell is like passing through a threshold; a transition that is consciously carried out. And farewells are always cathartic: looking back, in sorrow and bitterness — or looking ahead to an unknown future, hopeful and happy. Personal, intimate farewells shape who we are, while historical turning points affect us collectively. We bid farewell to bad habits and illusions, to unwarranted shame and uniformity, but also to living environments and landscapes that we look back on with nostalgia. What happens in these private or public moments? And which farewells do we negligently postpone? What do we cling on to when we know we should let go, and precisely where should we depart to?
