Faust I – Trailer

In Ulrich Rasche’s production, Faust I becomes an inner drama. Mephisto, Gretchen and Valentin appear as different facets of Faust himself – representing temptation, purity and order. Inspired by Bruce Nauman’s large-scale installations, a claustrophobic stage space is created that focuses attention on Faust’s inner conflicts and his quest for enlightenment.
