Gero Nievelstein

Gero Nievelstein was born in Rhineland, Germany, and completed his acting training at the renowned Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum. Theatre engagements have taken him to the Nuremberg and Braunschweig State Theatres, the Bochum Schauspielhaus, the Bad Hersfeld Festival, the Salzburg Landestheater and the Salzburg Festival. He was the acting coach for the final concerts of the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival in 2017 and 2018. He is currently a member of the ensemble of Theater Regensburg.
Alongside his work as an actor, Gero Nievelstein is a lecturer at the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg and from October 2022 will also teach at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

He has been producing cultural events for many years, and together with Frances Pappas founded the initiative Bridging Arts. In 2016 they won the Salzburg State Prize for Cultural Education for their production of Benjamin Britten’s ‘community opera’ Noye’s Fludde at Szene Salzburg.
