‘I’m a child of good fortune!’ While cheerfully and fearlessly wandering the world, the child of good fortune reaches an ailing country. The well has dried up, the golden apples have shrivelled on the tree, and sadness and malaise hang over the people. The child of good fortune meets the princess and decides on the spot to marry her — much to the consternation of the king, who sends the child off to his certain death. The child of good fortune manages to escape with the help of three robbers, but in the end the king gives the child the grim task of collecting three golden hairs from the head of the Devil. Thanks to the courage and self-confidence, not to mention some collusion with the Devil’s grandmother, the child of good fortune succeeds.
Before the performances the family workshop Wir spielen Oper! takes place.
