Our series on “Salzburg Festival Makers” features the various faces behind the scenes of the Salzburg Festival.

Our festival maker Doina Pirnau has been with us since 2010 and, together with her team, ensures that you feel comfortable during your visit to the Salzburg Festival and that everything looks its best.

As one of the largest departments in the theatre, cleaning faces a wide variety of challenges – especially in summer. The team grows to around 60 people in the two months of July and August and supports the daily tasks, but also the production-specific messes that can be found after a show.

“Do they learn that?” she asks herself as she talks about the friendliness and warmth of the other festival makers. Infected by the unique and wonderful atmosphere and the social aspects that she loves so much as head of department, she talks about her journey at the company.
