The Swiss dancer and choreographer Yasmine Hugonnet studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Paris and graduated from the master’s programme Dance Unlimited at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam.
In 2009 she founded the company Arts Mouvementés in Lausanne.
Her choreographic work has included numerous solo pieces, including Le Rituel des fausses fleurs (2013), Le Récital des postures (2014), which won the Swiss Dance Award, and La Traversée des langues (2015). The choreographies La Ronde / Quatuor (2016) and Se sentir vivant (2017) followed, in which she also incorporated the art of ventriloquism.
Her work is characterized by intensive research and an interdisciplinary approach. Since 2017 she has collaborated with the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne. This has resulted in works such as Chro no lo gi cal (2018), Seven Winters (2020) and La Peau de l’espace (2021), for which she received the Swiss Dance Award for the second time.
Her recent work includes Les Porte-Voix — Cabaret ventriloque (2022), Die Flüstertüten — Cabaret des Bauchredens for a young audience (2024) and 1000 & 1 BPM_Odyssée (2025) for the Ballet of the Grand Théâtre de Genève. In 2026 she returned to the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne with Our Times.
Yasmine Hugonnet’s work has been presented across Europe. Alongside her artistic activities she teaches at the arts universities La Manufacture in Lausanne and IRMAS in Geneva.
