Yasmine Hugonnet

Yasmine Hugonnet is a dancer, choreographer, ventriloquist. She is interested in the relationship between form, image, and sensation, the germination of the imagination, the (de)construction of choreographic language, and the process of embodiment and appropriation. She grew up in Switzerland, then left to study dance in Paris, where she enrolled at the CNSMDP in contemporary dance, followed by a Master’s degree in Choreography “Dance Unlimited” in Holland. After a period of traveling to pursue creative opportunities in Norway, Taiwan, and Slovenia, she founded her company Arts Mouvementés in Lausanne in 2010. She has produced several solos, including Le Rituel des Fausses Fleurs (2013), Le Récital des Postures (2014), winner of the Swiss Dance Award and the Swiss Selection in Avignon in 2017, and La Traversée des Langues (2015). In 2016, she created La Ronde-Quatuor (Rencontres chorégraphiques, Venice Dance Biennale), and in 2017, the solo Se Sentir Vivant, in which she developed the ventriloquism work that began in Le Récital des Postures. Supported by the Théâtre Vidy- Lausanne since 2017, she presented Chro no lo gi cal in 2018, Extensions in 2019, Seven Winters in 2020, and in 2021, the solo La Peau de L’Espace, winner of a second Swiss Dance Award in 2021. In 2022, she created Les Porte-Voix Cabaret Ventriloque at Vidy, which inspired the creation of her first show for young audiences, Sacs à Murmures, in 2024. In 2025, she created 1000&1 BPM _Odyssée for nine dancers from the the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève as part of a unique collaboration between the Festival de la Batie, the Pavillon ADC, and the BCG. She is also regularly invited by various institutions in Europe to share her practices with professional dancers. She is currently an artist-researcher associated with the Techniques Fabuleuses IRMAS and Manufacture project.
