Bass-baritone Vladyslav Buialskyi grew up in Berdiansk in Ukraine. In 2015 he began studying at the Reinhold Glière Institute of Music in Kyiv and in 2021 completed his bachelor’s degree in Nikolai Koval’s class at Kyiv’s National Academy of Music. In 2019 he won a special prize at the International Stanisłav Moniuszko Competition at Warsaw’s Teatr Wielki and the Brian Dickie Young Singers Award at the New Voices International Singing Competition in Gütersloh. In 2020 he was a finalist in the Tenor Viñas Contest and as a result was invited to join the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He made his Met debut in February 2022 as a Flemish Deputy (Don Carlos) and was heard as the Captain in Eugene Onegin.
