Victor Lauwers

Victor Afung Lauwers was born in Brussels. He writes theatre, prose and poetry. In 2012 he founded Kuiperskaai, a theatre and visual arts collective in Ghent, where he worked as a writer and actor in productions such as 1095 and Hamlet. In summer 2020 he joined Needcompany, where he is active as a playwright, actor and curator. His most recent play, Billy’s Violence, premiered in July 2021 and will be published by Bebuquin. He is currently working with the composer Maarten Seghers on an operatic adaptation of his volume of poems DWARF.
