Robert Gleadow

Canadian bass-baritone Robert Gleadow was a member of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and of the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio.
Highlights of the 2018/19 season include Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and the Four Villains (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) in Bremen, the Voice of Lucifer (Il primo omicidio) at the Paris Opéra and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) in Lausanne, on tour in Asia and in Granada with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra.
Robert Gleadow’s operatic appearances during the 2017/18 season included Leporello in Bremen, as well as at the Vienna State Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) with Les Musiciens du Louvre in Bucharest, Grenoble and at Versailles.
Other recent highlights include Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) in Cologne and Montréal, Leporello at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Guglielmo and Leporello at Glyndebourne, Talbot (Maria Stuarda), Truffaldin (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Angelotti (Tosca) at Houston Grand Opera and Colline at Dallas Opera and in Santiago.
Notable concert appearances include Bach’s Christmas Oratorio alongside Natalie Dessay in Paris, a European tour with the Orchestre d’Astrée under Emmanuelle Haïm, Bach’s St Matthew Passion and Mozart’s Mass in C minor with the Hallé and Mark Elder, the Mozart Requiem with Ensemble Matheus under Jean-Christophe Spinosi, as well as with the Baltimore Symphony Orchetra, and an appearance in a star-studded gala celebrating the inauguration of the new hall at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Robert Gleadow also appeared as Lorenzo on Deutsche Grammophon’s recording of I Capuleti e i Montecchi with Anna Netrebko and Elīna Garanča.
