Ran Arthur Braun is an internationally sought-after specialist in stage fighting and the co-ordination of live stunts. He has worked on more than 370 staged productions at leading opera houses and important festivals throughout Europe, the Middle East and in Asia. He has a longstanding partnership with the Bregenz Festival, where he has worked regularly for more than twenty seasons.
Ran Arthur Braun has also made a name for himself as a director and set designer. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Jan Kiepura Polish Theatre Award in the category of ‘best set design’ and in 2015 he was awarded ‘best director’ for his production of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges. Since 2017 he has worked regularly with Dmitri Tcherniakov.
He teached stage fighting at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the Centre de Perfeccionament del Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Vienna Volksoper and the opera studios of the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam and the Polish National Theatre in Warsaw.
Alongside his work in theatre Ran Arthur Braun works for leading event agencies and for television and film studios, among them Lucasfilm, Disney, Amazon and Balich Wonder Studio.
He developed the fight choreography for Christof Loy’s production of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Christmas Eve at the Frankfurt Opera in 2022 and for Dmitri Tcherniakov’s production of Prokofiev’s War and Peace at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in 2023. Both productions were voted ‘Production of the Year’ by the critics’ forum of the magazine Opernwelt. He also choreographed fights for Tcherniakov’s production of Iphigénie en Aulide / Iphigénie en Tauride at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, which was awarded an International Opera Award in 2024.
Future projects include working as artistic producer for various staged productions and live events in collaboration with the production firm Show Talent Network.
