Nicole Beutler, born in Vienna, received classical ballet training from the age of 4. She studied acting, dance and singing in Vienna and began her career at various German and Austrian theatres (including Theater in der Josefstadt).
Her first stage experiences included working with directors such as Fritz Muliar, Dietmar Pflegerl and Gerhard Klingenberg. Her roles have included Alpha in Robert Musil’s “Vinzenz und die Freundin bedeutender Männer” (directed by Jürgen Kaizik), Gabriele in Arthur Schnitzler’s “Weihnachtseinkäufe/Anatol” (directed by Joseph Lorenz), Célimène in Molière’s “Der Menschenfeind” (directed by Dora Schneider), Konstanze Mozart in Peter Shaffer’s “Amadeus” (directed by Dominik Wilgenbus) and Emma in Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal” (directed by Werner Schneyder). In Jérôme Savary’s production of Ferdinand Raimund’s “Der Alpenkönig und der Menschenfeind”, she appeared both as Sophie Rappelkopf and as a chanson singer. At Vienna’s English Theatre in 2007, she played the role of Miss Fisher in English in the two-person play “A Picasso” by Jeffrey Hatcher.
In addition to her theatre engagements, she has also appeared in numerous cinema and TV films, as well as in leading roles in successful series. Most recently in “Vorstadtweiber” (ORF/ARD) and “Walking on Sunshine” (ORF), and before that in “Schlosshotel Orth”, “Bernds Hexe” and “Der Bergdoktor”, among others. In 2007 she was nominated for a ROMY in the most popular actress category.
She can currently be seen in two cinema productions: In the award-winning film “Rickerl” (director: Adrian Goiginger) alongside Voodoo Jürgens and in “Am Ende wird alles sichtbar” (director: Peter Keglevic). Internationally, she has appeared in films such as “Klimt” (with John Malkovich) directed by Raoul Ruiz, “Princesse Marie” (with Catherine Deneuve) directed by Benoît Jacquot and “The Bucket” (directed by Francesca Pollak). In 2021, she filmed the BBC/Netflix series “The Serpent” alongside Tahar Rahim and Jenna Coleman in England, which won numerous international awards.
With her song recitals “Wer weiß, wo ich schon morgen bin”, “#Chanson”, “Wien – Paris – Retour” and “Liebes Lied!”, Nicole regularly appears on stage as a chansonnière together with the “Wiener Theatermusikern”. Nicole Beutler speaks fluent French and English in addition to her native German and works in all three languages.
