Pianist

Worldwide concert tours have taken the pianist Nenad Lečić to concert halls such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, the Cologne Philharmonie and the Stefaniensaal in Graz. He has also undertaken extensive tours to South Korea and Japan. He is a regular guest at renowned festivals such as the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Aldeburgh Festival, the Styriarte, the Kings Place Festival in London, the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam, the Whitsun Concerts at Schloss Hagerhof, the Ohrid Summer Festival and the Obertöne Chamber Music Festival. In 2023 he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival.

As a soloist, he has appeared with numerous orchestras, among them the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. He works with renowned conductors including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Jonathan Nott, Dennis Russell Davies, Peter Eötvös, Mauricio Kagel and Zsolt Nagy.

He finds working with his chamber music partners particularly enriching. These partners include Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Tamara Stefanovich, Xenia Jankovic, Katharina Deserno, Hajdi Elzeser, Guido Schiefen, Ralph Manno, Erik Schumann, Mariya Nesterovska, Hubert Mittermayer Nesterovskiy and Jens Peter Maintz.

Nenad Lečić is an especially committed interpreter of contemporary music, and has performed in numerous world premieres. He gave the German premiere of Johannes Maria Staud’s Im Lichte with the Bamberg Symphony, and made the first recording of Konrad Lang’s Vier rhythmische Etüden. He also performs on historical keyboard instruments; in this capacity he recorded Ludwig van Beethoven’s complete works for piano and cello with the cellist Xenia Jankovic, performing on a fortepiano.

He features on many recordings and live broadcasts, broadcast on stations such as ORF, the BBC, WDR and Radio Classique.

Nenad Lečić’s early studies took place in Belgrade under Igor Lazko. He later studied at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Arbo Valdma and Pierre-Laurent Aimard. He has participated in masterclasses with artists such as András Schiff, Vladimir Krainev, Alexander Lonquich, Peter Eötvös and the Alban Berg Quartett.
