The Italian soprano Mariam Suleiman studied singing at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome with Virna Sforza, graduating with distinction. In the 2023/24 season she participated in the ‘Fabbrica’ Young Artist Program of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, singing the title role in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon and appearing in concerts in Tokyo and at the Expo 2025 in Osaka.
In 2025 she won the Italian broadcasting company Rai Radio 3’s competition Voci in Barcaccia. Largo ai giovani! She has also been a finalist in the International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and at the Concorso Renata Tebaldi, where she was awarded three special prizes.
In the 2025/26 season Mariam Suleiman participated in the Mascarade Opera Emerging Artist Programme in Florence.
Her recent engagements have included Isabella in Salieri’s La partenza inaspettata at the 2025 Reate Festival, the world premiere of Silvia Colasanti’s Sacred Goddess, Mother Earth with the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini in Parma and the soprano solo in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento in Bolzano.
In the 2026/27 season she joins the International Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera House.
