Katrin Michaels is a dramaturge at the Residenztheater in Munich. She has a continuous collaboration with Thom Luz: “Leonce und Lena” after Georg Büchner (2017) and the installation “Radio Requiem” (2019) at the Basel Theatre, “Olympiapark in the dark” after Charles Ives (2019), “Die Wolken, die Vögel, der Reichtum” after Aristophanes (2021) and “Warten auf Platonow” after Anton Chekhov (2022) at the Residenztheater München.
She studied Theatre Studies, Modern German Literature and Psychology at the Free University of Berlin. During her studies, she worked as an assistant and intern at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, the Maxim Gorki Theatre and the Sophiensaele, among others. From 2007 to 2009 she worked as an assistant dramaturg at Schauspiel Hannover, from 2009 to 2011 as a dramaturg at Theater Bielefeld, from 2011 to 2014 at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and from 2015 to 2019 at Theater Basel, where she curated the interdisciplinary series “Paradise Lost” (2016), “Klub Roter Oktober” (2017) and “Ach 68”, among others. Collaborations with Nora Schlocker, Staffan Valdemar Holm, Calixto Bieito, Martin Laberenz, Schorsch Kamerun, Antonia Latella and Guillermo Calderón, among others. She has been a lecturer for dramaturgy on the directing course at the August Everding Theatre Academy since 2019.
