Iveta Simonyan, born in Novosibirsk, is a graduate of the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, where she studied under Professor Olga Kondina. Her training has included master classes with eminent artists, including Teodor Currentzis, Jennifer Larmore, as well as Dmitry Vdovin and Tamara Novichenko. A laureate of numerous competitions, her accolades include a Diploma from the New Opera World International Opera Competition (Moscow, 2020), the Special Prize of the Jury Chairman at Opera Bella (Moscow, 2021), Second Prize at the Sobinov Music Festival Vocal Competition (Saratov, 2022), and an award at the All-Russian Review Vocal Competition (Saint Petersburg, 2024). Iveta Simonyan made her professional debut as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the St. Petersburg Music Hall Theatre in 2023. From 2023 to 2025, she was a soloist at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, performing in its First Far East Easter Festival. Her repertoire there included the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Gilda (Rigoletto, Verdi), Voices from Heaven (Don Carlos, Verdi), Frasquita (Carmen, Bizet), Norina (Don Pasquale, Donizetti), Marfa (The Tsar’s Bride, Rimsky-Korsakov), Ninetta (The Love for Three Oranges, Prokofiev), and Brigitte (Iolanta, Tchaikovsky).
In the 2025/26 season, she joined the Anton Rubinstein Academy, an initiative founded by musicAeterna and Teodor Currentzis. She debuted with the Academy in Händel. A Dedication Ceremony, presented in St.Petersburg (Dom Radio), Moscow (Zaryadie Hall), Thessaloniki, Madrid (Auditorio Nacional de Música), Valencia (Palacio de la Música) and Barcelona (Palau de la Música Catalana). In September 2026, she made her debut at Moscow’s Novaya Opera Theatre in the title role of Pascal Dusapin’s Passion, a production distinguished by its presentation with the musicAeterna orchestra and choir under the baton of Teodor Currentzis.
