The Hamburg-born tenor Florian Sievers has swiftly established himself on the international stage as a sought-after soloist in the lyric tenor repertory. His wide-ranging concert activity has taken him to internationally renowned music venues. He works regularly with leading conductors such as Alain Altinoglu, Jordi Savall and Hans-Christoph Rademann and with ensembles including the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the B’Rock Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Bach Society and the Danish Philharmonic Orchestra.

Highlights of the 2024/25 season included his debut with the Monteverdi Choir under Christophe Rousset at La Scala, Milan, Bach’s St Matthew Passion with the Thomanerchor and the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig and Bach’s St John Passion under Lionel Meunier at the Salzburg Festival. He also continued his collaboration with Frieder Bernius, including Mozart’s Requiem in Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Important past performances include the tenor solo in John Neumeier’s ballet Dona Nobis Pacem under Holger Speck at the Hamburg State Opera, the Evangelist in Bach’s St John Passion with the RIAS Kammerchor and the Akademie für Alte Musik under Justin Doyle at the Berlin Philharmonie and in La Seine Musicale in Paris, and Carl Reinecke’s oratorio Belsazar with the Gewandhaus Choir and Camerata Lipsiensis under Gregor Meyer.

His wide repertory, stretching from Baroque works to contemporary opera, is documented on numerous radio broadcasts, CDs and video recordings. In 2024 Vox Luminis released a critically acclaimed new recording of Schütz’s The Christmas Story with Florian Sievers as the Evangelist. In February 2025 he participated in the world premiere recording (released by Carus) of Spohr’s rediscovered Passion oratorio Des Heilands letzte Stunden with the Stuttgart Chamber Choir and Frieder Bernius.

Florian Sievers began his singing training in the Uetersen Boys’ Choir. He studied at the University of Music and Theatre Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig with Berthold Schmid, graduating from his Master’s degree with distinction.
