Evelin Facchini

Freelance choreographer, director, and dancer

The choreographer, director and dancer Evelin Facchini was born in Rome and currently lives in Berlin. She graduated from the ballet school of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.

Since 2011 she has worked regularly with the director Romeo Castellucci as a choreographer and performer, including in a production of Mozart’s Requiem at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and in Richard Strauss’s Daphne at the Berlin State Opera.

In 2022 she participated as a guest choreographer in the Political Voice Institute research project at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin. In 2023 she was the choreographer for Marta Górnicka’s production of Mothers — A Song for Wartime, which was shown in Warsaw and at the Festival d’Avignon, and is currently touring internationally. The show won the award for ‘Best choreography’ at the 2024 Boska Komedia Festival in Krákow. She has also been the choreographer for Oliver Frljić’s productions of Alice im Wunderland (Alice in Wonderland), Prozess (The Trial) and Frankenstein at the Maxim Gorki Theatre.

Evelin Facchini created the project Metalouda, which combines installation, short film, performance and choreography. As a result of this project, she directed and choreographed the production Wry / Second layer — Anatomy of Deception in the Heizhaus of the Uferstudios in Berlin.

She has collaborated with artists and institutions including the Socìetas Raffaello Sanio, Concordia University, Micha van Hoecke, Larrio Ekson, Dina Abu Hamdan, Teatret OM and David Stöhr.
