Celebrated for his interpretations of repertory from Bach to Boulez, pianist David Fray appears as a soloist and chamber musician at important concert halls and international festivals worldwide, including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, the BBC Proms, the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence, the Prague Spring Festival, the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad and the Salzburg Festival.

Highlights of the 2024/25 season include performances with the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, the Orchestre national Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes, the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Ballet, Sinfonia Rotterdam, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, and the orchestras of Louisville, Tucson and Savannah. His recent recitals have taken him throughout France, to Italy, Latvia, on a tour of Asia and – alongside Cecilia Bartoli – to Hungary, Poland and Switzerland.

David Fray has worked with renowned conductors, among them Marin Alsop, Semyon Bychkov, Christoph Eschenbach, Paavo Järvi, Kurt Masur, Riccardo Muti, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Jaap van Zweden. He regularly appears in concert with orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

As an exclusive artist with Erato/Warner Classics he has released numerous albums, including, most recently, Bach’s Goldberg Variations.

David Fray has won numerous awards, including the ECHO Klassik, the Ruhr Piano Festival’s Young Talent Award, and the BBC Music Magazine Award as ‘Newcomer of the Year’. He studied with Jacques Rouvier at the Conservatoire de Paris.
