The Uzbekistani tenor Bekhzod Davronov won second Prize in Operalia in 2021.

In the 2024/25 season his appearances have included Alfredo (La traviata) and Rodolfo (La bohème) at the Dallas Opera, Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Rodolfo at the Semperoper Dresden and the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto) at the Irish National Opera in Dublin.

Following his role debut as Leicester (Maria Stuarda) at the Salzburg Festival, his 2025/26 season appearances will include Alfredo at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw. He will also return to the Vienna State Opera as Edgardo, to the Semperoper Dresden as Rodolfo and to the Bavarian State Opera as the Duke of Mantua and Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore).

Recent highlights have included Cassio (Otello) at the Vienna State Opera, Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Prunier (La rondine) at the Met, Alfredo at the Santa Fe Opera, Rodolfo at the Prague State Opera and on a Glyndebourne Festival tour, Anatol Kuragin in Dmitri Tcherniakov’s new production of Prokofiev’s War and Peace under Vladimir Jurowski at the Bavarian State Opera and Aljeja (From the House of the Dead) at the Ruhrtriennale. He made his Salzburg Festival debut in 2024 at a Whitsun Festival gala concert given in honour of Plácido Domingo.

Bekhzod Davronov studied at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. He was a member of the opera studio of the Alisher Navoiy Theatre in Tashkent and of the ensemble of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where he appeared in operas including La traviata, Béatrice et Bénédict, Boris Godunov, The Tsar’s Bride, The Tale of Tsar Saltan and The Demon.
