Tage der Archive

We are delighted to be able to offer three events again this year as part of the Tage der Archive 2026, making us one of 18 archives in Salzburg opening their doors under the theme ‘kunst*voll’.

In the summer of 2026, the Salzburg Festival will host its first dedicated archive festival, which aims to explore new formats, ways of perceiving the past and sources of memory. Using the archive materials – costumes, props, drawings, architectural plans, 3D models – the festival will trace the development of projects in which treasures from the festival’s history are transformed into works of art.
