The Spanish-English mezzo-soprano Victoria Cassano began her musical training on piano and violin, before specializing in early music during her master’s degree, focusing especially on 17th-century Spanish sacred music. In 2025/26 she has performed at Alte Musik St Gallen and with Vox Luminis under Lionel Meunier, with performances including concerts at the Wigmore Hall with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and at the Cologne Philharmonie with the B’Rock Orchestra. This summer she makes her debut as a soloist at the Salzburg Festival.
As a vocal soloist she primarily performs in sacred works and oratorio. Her repertory includes Bach’s Mass in B minor, Christmas Oratorio, St John Passion, St Matthew Passion, Magnificat and numerous cantatas, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and ‘Coronation’ Mass and Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Gloria.
With Vox Luminis she has appeared on a diverse selection of CDs for Ricercar and the Alpha Classics label. She also participated in the recording Ricercari & Canzonette with the ensemble La Violondrina under María Saturno, featuring works by Sebastián Raval, which was released by Brilliant Classics in 2024.
