Victor Schlothauer was born in Frankfurt am Main and lives in Vienna. After brief studies in philosophy, German and comparative literature as well as various internships, he worked as a dramaturgy assistant at the Vienna Burgtheater from 2021 to 2023, supervising productions by Johan Simons, Rieke Süßkow (world premiere of Peter Handke’s Zwiegespräch) and Lilja Rupprecht, among others, as well as several productions by the directing and writing duo Dead Centre. He also translates from English. In the summers of 2021 and 2022 he was program editor of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival.
Since fall 2023, Victor Schlothauer has been working as a freelance dramaturge for the Burgtheater, among others, and in summer 2024 will present his first play with Liebe Grüße … oder Wohin das Leben fällt will be his first dramaturgy at the Salzburg Festival in summer 2024.
