Tom Visser was born into a theatrical family and grew up in the Irish countryside. At the age of 18 he began working on music theatre productions. Six years later, in the mid-2000s, the focus of his work moved  to contemporary dance. Tom Visser has worked with renowned companies such as the Nederlands Dans Theater, the Royal Ballet in London, the Paris Opéra Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada, to name but a few. He has created lighting designs for numerous choreographers, including Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Stijn Celis, Medhi Walerski, Lukas Timulak and Joeri Dubbe. Since 2016 Tom Visser has also been creating his own projects, including art installations and interactive media.
