Australian soprano Siobhan Stagg has been a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin since the 2013/14 season. Her roles there include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Gilda (Rigoletto), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Musetta (La bohème), the Countess of Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims), Marguerite de Valois (Les Huguenots) and the Woodbird and Woglinde (Der Ring des Nibelungen) conducted by Simon Rattle.
Siobhan Stagg’s highlights during the 2018/19 season included her US debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, where she appeared in the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon. She also made her debut at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in a staged production of Mozart’s Requiem. Other appearances included Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), marking her debut with Victorian Opera in Australia, and Pamina, Gilda, Adele (Die Fledermaus) and Micaëla (Carmen) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Elsewhere she has appeared as Pamina and in the title role in Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. She has also appeared as Gilda, Blonde and Cordelia (Reimann’s Lear) at the Hamburg State Opera, Naiad (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Blonde at the Dutch National Opera, Woglinde for the Berlin State Opera and Morgana (Alcina) and Marzelline (Fidelio) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
Forthcoming performances include returns to Covent Garden, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Opéra de Dijon, as well as her debuts at Garsington Opera and Glyndebourne.
Highlights on the concert platform include Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem with the Berlin Philharmonic and Christian Thielemann, Zemlinsky’s Lyrische Symphonie at the BBC Proms with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Simone Young, Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Andrew Davis, Mozart arias alongside Rolando Villazón at the Salzburg Mozartwoche Festival with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and Kristiina Poska and a tour of Australia with Roberto Alagna.
