The composer and conductor Sebastian Schwab was born in 1993 and studied conducting, composing, music theory and violin.
He has composed and arranged for companies including the Stuttgart State Opera (Der Räuber Hotzenplotz), the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Heidenheim Opera Festival, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the theatres of Bielefeld, Hildesheim and Trier.
He has worked on crossover projects with artists including Lo & Leduc.
He was principal Kapellmeister at the Bern Opera, and was previously assistant to the general music director of the Stuttgart State Opera. He has also conducted at the Zurich Opera House, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Nuremberg State Theatre and the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, and has also worked with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Stuttgart Philharmonic and the Munich Symphony Orchestra.
Sebastian Schwab held a scholarship from the Forum Dirigieren (Conductors’ Forum). His compositional collaboration with the composer Mikis Theodorakis on the song cycle Echowand was published by Schott/Wergo and received the Leonhard and Ida Wolf Memorial Prize.
