The British oboist Sasha Calin has been a member of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg since 2010. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and at the University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig, and was a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Zurich Opera House.
Alongside her work in Salzburg, she performs regularly with some of Europe’s most renowned orchestras, including the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Salzburg.
As a soloist and chamber musician she appears at various festivals, including the Bridging Arts Festival in Nuremberg, the Weissensee Klassik Festival in Carinthia and the Dartington Festival in England. Before deciding to concentrate on the oboe, Sasha Calin completed a geography degree at the University of Cambridge.
