Roxane Duran was born in Paris and holds both Austrian and French citizenship. She discovered her passion for acting at the renowned drama school Cours Florent. In 2008, she was discovered by Michael Haneke through a casting and landed her first role in his acclaimed historical drama The White Ribbon.

From that moment, her international career began, with numerous projects in theatre, film and television.

As part of the stage adaptation of Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt’s The Diary of Anne Frank, Roxane Duran played the title role of Anne Frank during the 2012–2013 seasons. The productions took place both at the Théâtre Rive Gauche in Paris and on tour across France, Belgium and Switzerland.

In 2014, she returned to the stage at the Théâtre Hébertot, playing the role of Molly in an adaptation of Beau Willimon’s Farragut North. For this performance, she was nominated in the Best Emerging Actress category for the Molière, France’s national theatre award. Between 2019 and 2020, she appeared at the Théâtre Édouard-VII in Pierre Carlet de Marivaux’s L’Heureux Stratagème.

Her film roles range from historical dramas such as Michael Kohlhaas to comedies like The Bélier Family (La Famille Bélier) by Éric Lartigau, as well as series including Interview with the Vampire from showrunner Rolin Jones, Riviera by Neil Jordan, Deutsch-Les-Landes for Amazon, Der Schatten, and the Tatort episode Zugzwang by Nina Vukovik. Upcoming projects include the series Vienna Game for Disney Plus. She has also appeared in films such as Mrs. Harris and a Dress by Dior by Anthony Fabian, Paula by Christian Schwochow, Der Mönch by Dominik Moll, and Narziss und Goldmund by Stefan Ruzowitzky.

At the Salzburg Festival 2026, Roxane Duran will make her debut in the role of the Paramour in the play Jedermann.
