Robin Tritschler

Robin Tritschler was a BBC New Generation Artist from 2012 to 2014 and has appeared with many leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Moscow Virtuosi, the Ensemble Pygmalion and the BBC Philharmonic, as well as appearing at the BBC Proms.

He was the tenor soloist in a performance of Messiah given to mark the 80th anniversary of the Vatican State and appeared in the UK premiere of C. P. E. Bach’s St John Passion with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Robin Tritschler’s roles with Welsh National Opera include Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Narraboth (Salome), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail). He made his debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in Wozzeck in 2013 and with Garsington Opera as Ferrando in 2015.

He also performs contemporary opera and created the tenor roles in Roger Waters’s Ça Ira and Will Gregory’s Piccard in Space, as well as appearing in Jonathan Harvey’s Wagner Dream at Welsh National Opera and Louis Andriessen’s De Materie at the Ruhr Triennale and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. He made his debut at the Bregenz Festival in Thomas Larcher’s new opera Das Jagdgewehr. His growing discography includes a critically acclaimed recording of songs from World War I with Malcolm Martineau on the Signum label.

Recent highlights include a recital at Wigmore Hall, Schwanengesang in San Diego with Inon Barnatan, concerts with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Ensemble Pygmalion, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and a return appearance at the Risør Chamber Music Festival.

Other engagements include Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with the St Louis Symphony Orchestra, Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Bach’s St Matthew Passion with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Bach’s Mass in B minor with Les Violons du Roy, Schumann’s Szenen aus Goethes Faust in Utrecht and a return to Covent Garden as Jaquino (Fidelio) in 2020.
