Orlando Rodriguez, born in Caracas, Venezuela, gained his first stage experience in 1995. After graduating from drama school, he completed his dance training at the University of the Arts in Caracas in 2002 and went on to work with some of Venezuela’s leading dancers and choreographers. From 2004 to 2007, a Venezuelan national scholarship program enabled him to study at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
Orlando Rodriguez lives in Berlin and works as a performer, choreographer and choreographic assistant on artistic projects in Europe and abroad with Sergiu Matis, Cie Morphose and Soraya Thomas or MOUVOIR and Stephanie Thiersch, among others. He has been associated with Sasha Waltz & Guests since 2009; he has participated in many of the company’s projects and danced in Sasha Waltz choreographies worldwide, for example as part of the original cast of the project In C in 2021. Since then, he has been involved as a tutor in teaching In C to a growing dance community and in international In C projects, including in the USA, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Venezuela.
Orlando Rodriguez also leads master classes in Germany, France, Madagascar, Lithuania and Venezuela, among others.
