Olivia Betteridge

Olivia Betteridge was born in Westmead, Australia, began her training at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and completed it at the School of the Hamburg Ballet. She has been a member of the Hamburg Ballet since 2017 and was promoted to soloist in 2023.

Her repertory in Neumeier’s ballets includes Marie in The Nutcracker, Olympia in Lady of the Camellias, Princess Claire in Illusions — like Swan Lake, Rosalinde in Romeo and Juliet, Calypso in The Odyssey, La Barbarina in Death in Venice, Tamara Karsavina in Nijinsky and an Evening Star in The Sleeping Beauty (new version, 2021). She has danced leading solo roles in Neumeier’s ballets Broadway’s Pawlowa, Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler and Epilogue, as well as in Pina Bausch’s Adagio, William Forsythe’s Blake Works V (The Barre Project) and George Balanchine’s Serenade, Liebeslieder Walzer and Brahms–Schoenberg Quartet. In addition, she portrayed Diana Rivers in Cathy Marston’s Jane Eyre and danced the title role in Bournonville’s La Sylphide.

In 2026, she received the Dr Wilhelm Oberdörffer Prize.
