Momme Hinrichs

Momme Hinrichs came to international acclaim as the co-founder of the artistic duo fettFilm, which has led him to work as a video designer and to be significantly involved in the development of video projections in the theatre since 2000. Since 2007 he has also worked as a set designer.

His work has taken him to numerous European opera houses and festivals, among them the festivals of Salzburg, Bayreuth and Bregenz and the opera houses of Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Hanover, Oslo, Paris, Toulouse, Nancy, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Vienna, Budapest, Barcelona and Florence. He has also worked at theatres in North America, China, India and the Far East.

Momme Hinrichs and fettFilm designed both sets and video projections for the production of Der fliegende Holländer at the Donbass Opera in Donetsk, which won the 2012 Taras Shevchenko Prize, the highest cultural award in Ukraine. Since 2014 Momme Hinrichs has also worked as a stage director.

His recent work includes set designs and video projections for La Juive at Hanover State Opera, La forza del destino in Graz, Jesus Christ Superstar in St Gallen and Jekyll & Hyde at the Zeltpalast Merzig. He was responsible for both designing and directing Hänsel und Gretel for Bonn Opera. Plans include designing sets and videos for Lydia Steier’s production of Salome at the Paris Opéra.
