Georgian baritone Misha Kiria has been acclaimed internationally for his performances in roles such as Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola, and the title role in Falstaff, with appearances in renowned opera houses such as the Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro Regio di Parma, La Scala in Milan, Dutch National Opera, the Bavrian State opera and the Vienna State Opera.
In the 2025/26 season he sings in Falstaff in Parma, La Fille du Regiment and La Cenerentola in Munich, The Barber of Seville, L’Italiana in Algeri and Gianni Schicchi in Berlin.
Misha’s recent appearances included La Cenerentola and La Fille du regiment at the Bayerische Oper in Munich, Gianni Schicchi at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen and at the Paris Opera, L’Italiana in Algeri at the Rome Opera and at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Falstaff at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
Highlights of recent seasons also include his debut at the Salzburg Festspiele in a new production of Il Trittico, broadcasted live on ARTE, as well as performances at the Deutsche Oper in La forza del Destino, as Fra Melitone, Lord Sidney in Il viaggio a Reims, and Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte. Misha regularly appears at the Bavarian State Opera where he has performed in Il signor Bruschino, Il Turco in Italia and Il barbiere di Siviglia. He made his house debut at the Vienna State Opera as Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore. At the Teatro Real in Madrid, Misha made his house debut with the role of Falstaff in Laurent Pelly’s production, under direction of Daniele Rustioni. At the Glyndebourne Opera Festival he was as Dulcamara in of L’elisir d’amore.
Misha made his debut in the title role of Falstaff at the Verdi Festival in Parma in 2017, and portrayed Lord Sidney in Il viaggio a Reims at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Other appearances include Falstaff at Fondazione Teatro della Fortuna Fano, Teatro dell’Aquila Fermo, Teatro Marrucino di Chieti, Teatro Ventidio Basso, and Blansac in La Scala di Seta at Teatro alla Scalla. Msiha also portrayed Cavaliere Belfiore in Verdi’s Un giorno di regno at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona and Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola at the Oper Frankfurt. Further international appearances include Zarete in Il Paria at the Barbican Hall in London, La Cenerentola in Las Palmas, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci in Valencia, La forza del destino in Berlin, and Il turco in Italia in Madrid.
Misha is a graduate from the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan and from the Tbilisi State Conservatory.
