Georgian baritone Misha Kiria studied at the Tbilisi State Conservatory and at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. His repertoire includes roles such as Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and the title role in Falstaff.

Recent highlights of Misha Kiria’s career include Falstaff at the Verdi Festival in Parma, Bartolo for the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Lord Sidney (Il viaggio a Reims) for the Deutsche Opera in Berlin, Blansac (La scala di seta) at La Scala, Belfiore (Un giorno di regno) at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Don Magnifico at the Frankfurt Opera, Zarete in Donizetti’s La paria at London’s Barbican Hall, Falstaff in Madrid, Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore) for the Glyndebourne Festival (also on tour) and Fra Melitone (La forza del destino) for the Deutsche Oper in Berlin.

Other appearances have included Don Magnifico in Las Palmas, Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana) and Tonio (Pagliacci) at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia and at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Don Geronio (Il turco in Italia) and Bartolo at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and Belcore at the Vienna State Opera.

Plans include Sancho in Massenet’s Don Quichotte and Bartolo at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin.
