Mathieu Pordoy
Pianist

The French pianist Mathieu Pordoy is a versatile artist both on stage and behind the scenes, and is one of the most sought-after coaches of his generation. He is casting advisor to the Opéra de Dijon and the Opéra Comique as well as artistic co-ordinator of the Académie of the Opéra Comique in Paris.
As a recital partner to Sabine Devieilhe, he has appeared at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, the Wigmore Hall, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Berlin Philharmonie. Together they released the album Mozart & Strauss: Lieder. His other musical partners include Michael Spyres, with whom he has given recitals throughout Europe and North America, Marina Rebeka, with whom he has appeared in France, Spain and Russia and in a live broadcast of their album Voyages, Diana Damrau and Pene Pati. In 2021 he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival with Benjamin Bernheim.
Highlights of the 2024/25 season included performances with the pianist Nathalie Steinberg in Béziers and with Pene Pati in Bordeaux, and a recital series with Sabine Devieilhe, in which the duo appear(ed) at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Festival de Saint-Denis, in Madrid, Paris, Lausanne and Salzburg. He was also a vocal and language coach for Castor et Pollux at the Paris Opéra, Werther at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Louise at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
A specialist in French opera, Mathieu Pordoy is regularly invited to work at opera houses such as the Paris Opéra, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Vienna State Opera and the Zurich Opera House. Since 2008, he has collaborated on productions every summer in Aix and is coach for the Académie at the Festival. He has served on the music staff at opera houses such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Auditorio de Tenerife, Les Chorégies d’Orange, the Cologne Opera and the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, and has worked with conductors including Fabio Luisi, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Gianandrea Noseda, Daniele Gatti, Mikko Franck, John Eliot Gardiner, Louis Langrée, Michele Mariotti, Alain Altinoglu, Raphaël Pichon and François-Xavier Roth.
Mathieu Pordoy graduated from the Paris Conservatoire, where he taught from 2006 to 2011. Since 2024 he has been a jury member of the Concours international de la mélodie de Gordes.
