Marko Milenković

Marko Milenković was born in Ćuprija in Serbia in 1992. He began violin lessons at the age of six at the School of Musical Talents in his hometown. At the age of 14, while he was still performing as a violinist, he decided to focus on the viola and took lessons from Tomislav Milosević. He was soon being awarded national and international prizes.

He continued his studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Thomas Riebl. In 2014 he won third prize and a special award at the Concorso Lionel Tertis / Enrico Mainardi at the Mozarteum. In 2018, Marko Milenković was selected to continue his master’s degree in solo performance at the Zurich University of the Arts with Lawrence Power.

Marko Milenković had his first professional engagement as a chamber musician as a member of the Testore Quartet, appearing in many concert halls and festivals around Europe. He then played in the renowned Amar Quartet in Switzerland until 2019.

Marko Milenković has also performed regularly as a chamber musician at various festivals worldwide and has appeared in concert with artists such as Sergio Azzolini, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Vittorio Ghielmi, Roeland Hendrikx, Thomas Riebl and Klara Flieder, as well as with the Trio Rafale.

He is a regular guest viola player with the Camerata Bern, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the German Chamber Academy Neuss am Rhein and the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra. He is also regularly invited to play with Camerata Salzburg and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

Marko Milenković has been a member of the Salzburg-based Adelphi Quartet since 2020, with whom he gives concerts at numerous festivals around the world.

He also taught chamber music and solo performance at the Haliaeti masterclasses in Izola in Slovenia in the summer of 2018. Marko Milenković has been principal viola with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra since 2016. He plays a 2009 viola by Bernd Hiller.
