Marion Dimbath

Marion Dimbath, born in Wolfratshausen in 1973, studied jazz trombone at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich and the Hermann Zilcher Conservatory in Würzburg. She works as a trombonist, singer and tuba player in various jazz, rock and pop formations as well as in the theater.

In the 1990s, she was the singer and trombonist in the Munich pop disco band Merricks. In 2002, she founded the electropop glockenspiel duo Leichtmetall. Two of her long-standing bands are the rock’n’roll and swing band Marty & his Rockin’ Comets and her own jazz trio TriOrange. Since 2014, she has also been a permanent member of the New Orleans jazz band The New Orleans Joymakers and Hans Reidel’s Big 9. In 2015, she founded the instrumental trio Hacklinger with Anschi Hacklinger.

She toured with Sportfreunde Stiller and Udo Jürgens and made guest appearances with The Notwist, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Roland Kaiser. In 2023, she accompanied the Australian hip-hop band Hilltop Hoods on their European tour and played the Oktoberfest season in the Augustiner-Festzelt-Kapelle. In the theater, she has performed in Munich at the Metropoltheater, Volkstheater and Residenztheater, the Ingolstadt City Theater and the Straubing City Theater.
