Marcio Schuster

Marcio Schuster is a musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, music producer and entrepreneur with a master’s degree in saxophone from the renowned Munich University of Music and Performing Arts.

Schuster plays an essential role in promoting chôro as a musical genre in Munich. He is one of the organizers of the renowned Chôro Festival, which saw its third edition in 2024. His commitment as an organizer, artist and teacher has contributed significantly to the spread and appreciation of this unique Brazilian musical style.

Schuster has extensive experience as a soloist and member of various musical formations in Brazil and Germany. Particularly noteworthy is his debut in Germany with works dedicated to him, such as the Concerto for Saxophone, String Orchestra and Percussion by Nikolai Brücher. He is involved in projects and formations such as Bavaschôro, Marcio Schuster Trio, Electroreeds and Black Shoes, with performances on international stages as well as in Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland and France.

In 2015, he released the album PraQuem with the Marcio Schuster Trio, a group that brings together local and international talent and showcases his versatility and compositional skills. In addition to other participations in music festivals and awards in Brazil, in 2002 he won the Bianca Bianchi competition with the saxophone quartet A plenos Pulmões at the III Festival de Música de Câmara de Curitiba.
