Theatre and film actress. Born in 1965. After her graduation in acting from the State Drama School of Theatre in Kraków, she debuted at Stary Teatr in Kraków in Jerzy Jarocki’s Shema Izrael!.
Her breakthrough role came when she was cast by Krystian Lupa as the young actress in The Brothers Karamazov at the Stary Teatr in Kraków, who is considered to be the discoverer of her talent. After a successful debut, she appeared in most of Lupa’s productions in Kraków, including Kalkwerk, Lunatycy, Rodzeństwo or Factory 2.
She has collaborated with numerous outstanding theatre directors – Jerzy Jarocki, Jerzy Grzegorzewski, Andrzej Wajda, and Grzegorz Jarzyna. Critics emphasize her strong stage presence and exceptional ability to concentrate and achieve a strong effect with minimal means. They praise her reluctance to cater to the audience and her emotional courage in taking on controversial roles.
Her first role in a Krzysztof Warlikowski production was in Bacchae in 2001. She joined the Nowy Teatr ensemble in 2016.
