Lorenz Paul Stöger

Artistic Collaboration

Lorenz Paul Stöger studied set and costume design at the Weißensee Academy of Art in Berlin. While still a student he worked as an assistant set designer to Stefan Hageneier on projects including the Oberammergau Passion Play and productions at the Munich Volkstheater and the Bad Hersfeld Festival.

He has been working as an artistic associate of Ersan Mondtag since 2023. Together they develop set, costume and spatial concepts for opera and theatre productions and for exhibition projects.

Their work together includes Das rote Haus at the Maxim Gorky Theatre in Berlin, Sibylle Berg’s Toto oder Vielen Dank für das Leben at the Vienna Burgtheater, La forza del destino at the Opéra national de Lyon, Salome at the Opera Vlaanderen, Les Pêcheurs de perles at the Vienna State Opera and Albert Ostermaier’s Munich Machine at the Residenztheater in Munich.

Together, he and Ersan Mondtag devised the spatial concept and the design of the installation for the German Pavillion at the 60th Venice Biennale. His work encompasses the artistic conception and realization of set designs, exhibition spaces and costumes, and he is active throughout the entire creative process of the productions he works on with Ersan Mondtag.
