The instrumental and vocal ensemble Le Concert d’Astrée was founded in 2000 by Emmanuelle Haïm, and has earned an outstanding reputation for its interpretations of music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Since 2004, Le Concert d’Astrée has been resident ensemble at the Opéra de Lille, where it most recently appeared in Porpora’s Polifemo and in a concert of music by Rameau and Handel. The ensemble has also released numerous CDs on the Erato /Warner Classics label, which have been acclaimed by press and public.

In 2021 the ensemble celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Berlin State Opera and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris with concerts under Emmanuelle Haïm and Simon Rattle.

In the 2025/26 season Le Concert d’Astrée will appear in Handel’s Semele at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam and in Jean-Marie Leclair’s Scylla et Glaucus at the Zurich Opera House. Other future projects will take the ensemble to perform in renowned concert halls worldwide, and will include a tour of France and Spain with Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

The ensemble is collaborating with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra to create The Handel Project at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as part of a three-year residency in Los Angeles.

Under the initiative of Emmanuelle Haïm, members of Le Concert d’Astrée are regularly involved in outreach and education programmes.
