The Swiss mezzo-soprano Lara Morger delights audiences with her remarkable expressiveness, radiant energy and deeply affecting vocal warmth. Her profound love of language is demonstrated in the nuanced vocal details and crystal-clear diction that characterize her performances. A sought-after soloist, she sings regularly at Europe’s great concert halls under renowned conductors such as Jordi Savall, Christoph Prégardien and Kristian Sallinen, and works with ensembles including lautten compagney Berlin and the Bern Symphony Orchestra.

Her wide-ranging repertory ensures she is equally at home in the contexts of historically informed performance practice, contemporary orchestral works and opera.

Highlights of the 2025/26 season have included performances with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Vokalakademie Freiburg and the Capella Francescana in Lucerne, and a recital in Wuppertal. She has performed with Jordi Savall, the Capella Reial de Catalunya and Hespèrion XXI in Munich, and with Savall, Le Concert des Nations and the Capella Reial de Catalunya in a Haydn and Beethoven programme at the Philharmonie de Paris, the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, the Auditori in Barcelona, and in Santander and Aix-en-Provence, and in works by Vivaldi in Barcelona and at the Palau de la Música in Valencia and the Palace of Culture in Dresden.

Previous important performances included the title role in Handel’s Alessandro in 2022 under the baton of Gottfried von der Goltz at the ETA Hoffmann Theatre in Bamberg and her critically acclaimed debut in Mozart’s Mass in C minor with Le Concert des Nations under Jordi Savall at the Salzburg Mozartwoche Festival in 2025.

Lara Morger graduated with distinction from her singing studies with Tanja Ariane Baumgartner at the University of the Arts in Bern in 2024. She also received important artist mentoring from Christiane Iven and Brigitte Fassbaender. In 2024 she became the first Swiss artist to win both first prize and the audience prize at the Bach Competition in Leipzig.
