Since the 2024/25 season the tenor Konstantin Igl has been an ensemble member at the Regensburg State Theatre, where so far he has sung roles including Goro (Madama Butterfly), Microscope in Offenbach’s Le Voyage dans la lune (Die Reise zum Mond), Léon in John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles and Oronte (Alcina).
In 2024 he appeared as Mozart in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Mozart and Salieri at the Salzburg Mozartwoche and as Dancing Master and Brighella in a concert performance of Ariadne auf Naxos at the Richard Strauss Days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the summer of the same year, he was a participant in the Salzburg Festival’s Young Singers Project.
In concert he has sung the tenor solos in Bach’s St Matthew Passion and St John Passion, and in more than eighty of the composer’s cantatas.
Konstantin Igl began his singing training in the class of the tenor Ferdinand Seiler at the Musisches Gymnasium in Ingolstadt (Gnadenthal-Gymnasium). Following his Abitur, he trained as a mathematics and music teacher in Munich, completing this training with the First State Examination. He went on to study singing in Christoph Strehl’s class at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, graduating in 2024.
