The German-Egyptian mezzo-soprano Karima El Demerdasch studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London with John Evans. In 2024 she was a finalist at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and in 2023 she took part in the Georg Solti Accademia.
In student productions at the Guildhall School she has appeared in roles such as Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas). With Opera Kipling, she performed the title role in their production of La Cenerentola at the London theatre Upstairs at the Gatehouse. In September 2025 she will become a member of the International Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera. She will also make her debut at London’s Barbican Hall.
