Joshua Berg

Tenor

The tenor Joshua Berg comes from Gladstone (New Jersey). He is an alumnus of the Juilliard School Pre-College, where he studied with Lorraine Nubar and the pianist Dalton Baldwin. Since the 2023/24 season he has been a Resident Artist of the Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) in Philadelphia, where his teachers include Bill Schuman. His recent appearances in AVA productions have included Fenton (Falstaff), Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and the title role of L’amico Fritz. In summer 2025 he performed the role of Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) under Christian Reif in a production by the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara.

Other recent performances have included Tamino in a concert performance of Die Zauberflöte at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Frederic (The Pirates of Penzance) at the Savannah Voice Festival and Bardolfo (Falstaff) alongside Bryn Terfel at the Aspen Music Festival.
