Jonas Alsleben

Jonas Alsleben is a filmmaker and freelance video artist who lives in Munich and teaches the use of media in theatre at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. Alsleben has been head of the video department at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich since 2020.
Jonas Alsleben studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg and at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. His works have been shown at the Kunsthalle Bremen, the ZKM in Karlsruhe and the Kunstmuseum Basel, among others. Over the past ten years, he has been engaged as a video artist for various performance, opera and theatre productions and has worked at Schauspiel Stuttgart, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Residenztheater Munich, Staatstheater Hannover, Theater Basel, Staatstheater Kassel, Kampnagel Hamburg, Theater Bremen and Schauspielhaus Graz. He has worked with directors including Claudia Bauer, Thom Luz, Simon Stone, Bastian Kraft, Elsa-Sophie Jach, Lydia Steier, Oliver Reese, Martin G. Berger, Juliane Kann, Hans-Ulrich Becker and Hanna Müller.
The productions in which Jonas Alsleben has been involved have been invited to numerous guest performances and festivals.
