Jarrett Ott

In the 2022/23 season the American baritone Jarrett Ott has made several house debuts: as Lescaut (Manon) at the Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, as Jan Nyman in Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking the Waves at the Opéra Comique in Paris, as Prisoner in David Lang’s prisoner of the state at the Malmö Opera and as Maximilian in a concert performance of Candide with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra at the Lausitz Festival.
He has also appeared as Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Pittsburgh Opera, as John Seward in a concert performance of John Corigliano’s The Lord of Cries at the Odyssey Opera in Boston, and in the opening concert of the Sag Harbor Song Festival on Long Island.
In the 2021/22 season Jarrett Ott sang Oreste (Iphigénie en Tauride) at the Paris Opéra, Dandini (La Cenerentola) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas) under Emmanuelle Haïm at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg and Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) and Faust in Schumann’s Szenen aus Goethes Faust at the Stuttgart State Opera, where he returned in the 2022/23 season as Dandini. He also appeared as a soloist with Le Concert d’Astrée under Emmanuelle Haïm in a gala at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, which was recorded and released on CD by Warner Classics / Erato.
From 2018 to 2022 he was a member of the ensemble of the Stuttgart State Opera, where he appeared in roles including Count Almaviva, Marcello (La bohème), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Oreste and Chou En-lai (Nixon in China).
Future engagements include performances at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, his role debut as Don Giovanni with Opéra de Lille and Bruckner’s Mass in F minor with Collegium Vocale Gent.
