The Ukrainian bass Ivan Lyvch studied singing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and was a member of the Opera Studio of the Slovak National Theatre. As a soloist at the State Opera in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia) he performs roles such as Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), King of Egypt (Aida), Zuniga (Carmen), Talbot (Maria Stuarda), Masetto (Don Giovanni) and Old Hebrew (Samson et Dalila). In 2025 he was a finalist in the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition. At the start of the 2026/27 season Ivan Lyvch will join the Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera.
